Maskless Myers in H2?

If we didn’t have a HALLOWEEN 2 update for you all before your daily adventures, wouldn’t it just throw your entire day off? I know it would for me! I mean come on, as a genre fan we breathe and thrive for all the HALLOWEEN 2 updates we can get. Sarcasm aside we’ve got a pretty interesting little tidbit today that just might’ve put this sequel into perspective.

The dudes over at Dread Central are currently hitting up the HALLOWEEN 2 set and dropped a juicy piece of info that may totally turn you off HALLOWEEN 2. It could be considered a spoiler so read with caution! Ready for it? According to FX pro Wayne Toth, producer Andy Gould, and Malek Akkad… it seems Michael Myers will be sporting a lot more of that funky beard than we thought. Word is Myers will spend ‘a great portion’ of the film maskless. What? Word has it he’ll also be sporting a mysterious hoodie at one point and surely lurking through the shadows.

Now Zombie has already said he’s pegging HALLOWEEN 2 as his own sequel, relieved he doesn’t have to follow any guidelines set forth by the HALLOWEEN franchise… but don’t ruin the legacy man… Seventy percent of the movie will find Michael without his pattented mask… so what’s the deal? I can only hope this is being overexaggerated. I’d be perfectly fine with the flick centering on Laurie Strode and other characters with Michael lurking about leading to an explosive finale. Hell that’s the road the original HALLOWEEN followed and that worked to a T.

So take this news for what it’s worth and form up your own theories below. Will we be seeing a completely different Michael Myers than we’ve grown to know and love? We’ll find out when the flick hits theaters on August 28th.

And on a slightly minor update it seems an official site for HALLOWEEN 2 has gone live over at Halloween2-Movie.com though it’s just got the good ol ‘coming soon’ jive right now. It’s interesting to note that the webpage is playing the classic theme though… wasn’t Zombie abandoning the classic theme? It may be a safe bet to just disregard all these random ass updates and await the final product on August 28th so we can decide for ourselves. As always… keep it here for any and all H2 updates.
