THE DEPARTED stars Matt Damon and Mark Wahlberg are all set to reteam for the upcoming Paramount drama THE FIGHTER. The duo would star in the film about boxer Micky Ward and his rise to the lightweight title with the help of his half-brother Dicky, a former drug addict. Micky and Dicky. Neither Damon nor Wahlberg have officially signed on to the film but are expected to, once Paul Attanasio (THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM) finishes the script. Paramount has fast-tracked FIGHTER in hopes that they can quickly secure Damon and Wahlberg. The two Massachusetts born actors had been talking about reteaming after working together on THE DEPARTED and have met numerous times to discuss THE FIGHTER. Wahlberg, who was nominated for an Oscar for his role in THE DEPARTED, can be seen next in THE SHOOTER and later this year in WE OWN THE NIGHT. Damon has both OCEAN’S 13 and ULTIMATUM on the way this year. THE DEPARTED is now available on DVD (Happy Valentine’s Day sweetie!)
