McCarthy, Haddish, and Moss take on the mob in The Kitchen trailer

New Line Cinema and BRON Creative have unveiled a trailer for THE KITCHEN, an upcoming film that marks the directorial debut of Andrea Berloff, whose writing credits include screenplays for STRAIGH OUTTA COMPTON, BLOOD FATHER, and SLEEPLESS. The "take no shit from no one" action drama stars Oscar nominee Melissa McCarthy (GHOSTBUSTERS, CAN YOU EVER FORGIVE ME), comedic actress Tiffany Haddish (NIGHT SCHOOL, GIRLS TRIP), and THE HANDMAID'S TALE alumna Elisabeth Moss as three 1978 Hell’s Kitchen housewives whose mobster husbands are sent to prison by the FBI. Left with little but a sharp ax to grind, the ladies take the Irish mafia’s matters into their own hands—proving unexpectedly adept at everything from running the rackets to taking out the competition…literally.

The film is based on the DC Comics series of the same name written by Ollie Masters with illustrations by Ming Doyle and covers by Becky Cloonan. The first chapter of the eight-issue series was published in November of 2015. While I've yet to read The Kitchen for myself, I've spoken with several others who were quick to sing the book's praises. From the look of the trailer, the film looks to be every bit as ruthless and gritty as its source material, and should serve as a great platform for McCarthy, Haddish, and Moss to strut their stuff.

Starring alongside the trio of female leads are Domhnall Gleeson, Common, James Badge Dale, and Jeremy Bobb, among others.

In addition to the new trailer, the studios also let a new poster for the film out into the wild, featuring the film's three female leads looking dagerous as hell.
