McG’s alien invasion film Rim of the World hits Netflix later this month

For a long time, the words "directed by McG" would have lessened my enthusiasm for any project they were attached to, but after seeing what McG did with the very fun horror comedy THE BABYSITTER a couple years back I'm looking forward to seeing his next film, the "aliens invade a summer camp" sci-fi adventure RIM OF THE WORLD.

We're now just three weeks away from having a chance to see what McG has done with RIM OF THE WORLD, as the film is scheduled to be released through the Netflix streaming service on May 24th.

Written by superhero veteran Zack Stentz (his credits include THOR, X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, and The Flash), RIM OF THE WORLD has the following synopsis:

Summer camp at Rim of the World has barely begun when four misfit teenagers Alex, ZhenZhen, Dariush, and Gabriel find they’ve got bigger problems to face than learning how to canoe and climb ropes when aliens suddenly invade the planet. Alone in a campground once teeming with people, the kids are unexpectedly entrusted with a key that carries the secret to stopping the invasion. Without any adults or electronics to help guide the way, it’s clear what they must do: band together, conquer their fears, and save the world.

The cast includes Lynn Collins, Annabeth Gish, Michael Beach, Jack Gore, Miya Cech, Benjamin Flores Jr., King Bach, Alessio Scalzotto, Tony Cavalero, Rudy Mancuso, Carl McDowell, Chris Wylde, David Theune, Punam Patel, and Jason Rogel.

McG produced the film with Mary Viola, Susan Solomon, and Matt Smith. Stentz serves as executive producer alongside Brad Mendelsohn, Steven Bello, and Corey Marsh.
