He recently grabbed rights to an upcoming spy book called DEAD MAN RUNNING, and now has a high-profile screenwriter adapting it for him to direct. Oscar-winner Stephen Gaghan (TRAFFIC, SYRIANA) is on the case, prepping John Stock’s espionage novel for the big screen.
The book is described as a “reinvention” of the spy genre, a mix of BOURNE and John Le Carre that is (naturally) intended as a trilogy. The story apparently begins with the London Marathon and a runner strapped with explosives, and goes off on a global adventure from there. Presumably with plenty of shaky-cam and speed-cranking.
