McTeigue talks Raven

Edgar Allan Poe created some truly dark and macabre poems that have captivated readers for centuries, including his most famous poem “The Raven,” and its evil “nevermore.” So when I heard the director of V FOR VENDETTA was taking on THE RAVEN, I could hardly contain myself!

SlashFilm had a chance to chat with director James McTeigue about a number of projects, including THE RAVEN, which is next on his list. Here’s a brief snippet of how he describes the project:

It’s like the poem, The Raven, itself, crossed with Se7en. It should be pretty cool. The script is really good and everyone responds to it really well. I’m in the middle of casting.

Wow. You heard that right. “The Raven” meets SE7EN. I think my mind might have just blown a fuse right there. THE RAVEN is a fictionalized account of the final five “mysterious” days of Edgar Allan Poe’s life. So not only is it about Poe’s work, but it’s about Poe himself. Kick ass.
