Me Time: Mark Wahlberg joins Kevin Hart for Netflix comedy

Mark Wahlberg to star opposite Kevin Hart in the new Netflix comedy Me Time

Mark Wahlberg and Kevin Hart are poised to get up to no good when the duo teams for Netflix’s new comedy Me Time. The project hails from Night School writer John Hamburg, who is set to script, direct, and produce Netflix’s new comedy. Hamburg also produces through Particular Pictures alongside Hart and Bryan Smiley via Hartbeat Productions. Me Time will serve as the first film project that sees Wahlberg and Hart combining their talents on screen.

In Me Time, a stay-at-home dad (Hart), who finds himself with some “me time” for the first time in years while his wife and kids are away, reconnects with his former best friend (Whalberg) for a wild weekend that nearly upends his life.

Me Time is being set up at Netflix thanks to Hart’s new deal with the streamer. Per the deal, Netflix stands as the exclusive home for Hart’s creative endeavors. His films have grossed more than $4 billion at the global box office, making him one of the most bankable stars in the game. Under his multi-year deal with Netflix, the studio gets the first crack at anything he sets his mind to.

Wahlberg is also quite familiar with Netflix. He recently starred in Spenser Confidential for the streamer, which attracted more than 85 million views in its first four weeks of release. With numbers like that, it’s easy to see why Netflix would want to pair him with Hart for another marquee release. Wahlberg recently wrapped his contribution to Sony’s Uncharted and is currently filming Stu for director Rosalind Ross. The plot of Stu is being kept under wraps, though we do know that Mel Gibson, Jacki Weaver, and Alain Uy are also set to star in the upcoming drama.

We’ll be sure to bring you any updates related to Me Time as they come about.
