After the travesty that was Venom in SPIDER-MAN 3, the character needed some kind of reboot, something to restore his credibility. To think, that those who aren’t familiar with the comics, which is most people who saw the film, thought Venom to be this whiny, weak, secondary character, vanquished in twenty minutes. Now, writer Dan Slott and artist John Romita Jr. are trying to do Venom some justice—sort of. They’re the creators behind Anti-Venom, a new symbiote who looks like a cross between the old Venom and the CLOVERFIELD monster (wow, remember the days of endless speculation about what that monster looked like? It’s strange being able to reference casually now). EW.com has nabbed the exclusive first look, so click on those violent claws to check out Anti-Venom in his fully realized, vile self. And let the speculation for SPIDER-MAN 4 begin.
