Meet the troubled Ellie Rose (aka Not Alone), new U.K. horror flick set in the 50s

I absolutely love the roll of discovery we’re on right now – no doubt due to AFM – as we give you first details, plot-crunches, initial trailers and wacky promo art for movies we’re just catching wind to as well. Sure beats pimpin’ the 46th poster of movie you and I have no intention of seeing in the first place…know what I’m sayin’?

Anyway, we’re back with yet another intriguing new flick, despite its derivative title. The movie in question is called ELLIE ROSE (aka NOT ALONE), and marks the feature debut of longtime makeup-man turned writer/director Tristan Versluis (HOT FUZZ, THE DEVIL’S CHAIR, PSYCHOSIS).

Co-written by Tim Major and Andy Thompson, ELLIE ROSE (NOT ALONE) shapes up when:

Torn by years in an abusive marriage, an emotional Ellie Rose arrives alone at the family cabin along the broken coastline. Her story and motives for being there are unclear. Arriving unprepared and packed with few supplies she seems anxious at either leaving or someone else arriving. The cabin unused for years, still holds memories providing us with hints of a shattered family.

Plagued by her childhood and nightmares of her murdered family; Ellie anxiously prepares for an unwelcome visitor. Before long her nightmares turn real and those horrors that stalk her mind transform into the reality of everyday life. Imprisoned by her own actions and haunted by the ghosts of her past, Ellie soon starts to spiral out of control. The waiting is over…Ellie finally confronts her fears, her family and the truth.

Lucy Benjamin plays the tormented lead, finding support from Alexandra Moen, Bill Ward, Kika Mirylees and Brandon Francis.

No release in sight for the poor girl, but mosey over to the films Official Site for more.
