The release of Mortal Kombat 1 is just around the corner, and it was confirmed today that Megan Fox has lent her voice to Nitara. The vampire comes from the realm of Vaeternus and joins the fight to protect her race. You can check out a gruesome gameplay video of Nitara in action below, which also features Megan Fox talking about joining the Mortal Kombat franchise.

She comes from this weird realm, she is a type of vampire creature,” Megan Fox said in the video. “She’s evil but she’s also good. She’s trying to save her people. I really like her. She’s a vampire which obviously resonates for whatever reason. It’s cool to be in the game, you know? Because I’m not really just voicing it, it’ll be like she’s kind of me.

Mortal Kombat 1 is the latest title in the acclaimed Mortal Kombat videogame franchise developed by award-winning NetherRealm Studios. The game will introduce a reborn Mortal Kombat Universe that has been created by the Fire God Liu Kang, featuring reimagined versions of iconic characters as they’ve never been seen before, along with a new fighting system, game modes, bone krushing finishing moves, and more. Mortal Kombat 1 will be released on September 19th (or September 14th for early access) on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Production on the Mortal Kombat sequel has been halted due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, but it has already been shaping up to be a much-improved follow-up to the first movie. The film features a few new additions to the cast, including Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, Adeline Rudolph as Kitana, Tati Gabrielle as Jade, Martyn Ford as emperor Shao Kahn, Damon Herriman as Netherrealm demon Quan Chi, Desmond Chiam as Edenian King Jerrod, and Ana Thu Nguyen as Queen Sindel. Returning cast members include Lewis Tan as Cole Young, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Josh Lawson as Kano, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han and Sub-Zero, Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi and Scorpion, and Max Huang as Kung Lao.
