As you know, Tim Burton will adapt 60s TV series DARK SHADOWS to the big screen once he’s done filming FRANKENWEENIE. Burton’s right hand man Johnny Depp will headline, getting support from an impressive ensemble that includes Helena Bonham Carter, Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green, Jackie Earle Haley and Bella Heathcote. And now another A-list thespian is set to join the fun!
The Playlist has confirmed with sources close to the production that Michael Sheen (seen right) is in serious discussions to play a role in DARK SHADOWS, marking his second collaboration with Burton after last year’s ALICE IN WONDERLAND. No word on which role Sheen will play, but both sides seem to be interested in working together again. Nothing’s been negotiated yet, but very well could shortly enough.
DARK SHADOWS was a 1960s TV soap that centered on the 175-year-old vampire Barnabas Collins, sealed in his coffin by his father in 1795 and inadvertently unleashed in the present where he must adjust to an entirely new world while passing himself off to relatives in Collinwood, Maine as a cousin from England.
DARK SHADOWS hopefully comes out sometime next year.
