Michelle Williams, Peggy Lee, biopic

A biopic revolving around legendary singer Peggy Lee has been in development for quite some time, but the project has taken a leap forward as Deadline has reported that Michelle Williams has signed on to star in the film which will be directed by Todd Haynes.

Fever was once in development at Fox 2000 and was slated to star Reese Witherspoon, but it was put on hold after original screenwriter Nora Ephron passed away in 2012 and was shelved when Disney acquired Fox and the Fox 2000 banner was shut down. Deadline also reports that Billie Eilish has expressed an interest in the project as she views Peggy Lee as one of her inspirations and is in early talks to come onboard as an executive producer. MGM is also in talks to pick up the project. With a career spanning decades, Peggy Lee has countless hit under her belt, but she's best known for her take on Fever, a Little Willie John song which she rearranged and wrote additional lyrics for.

Michelle Williams will next be seen reprising her role of Anne Weying in Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and before production began, she expressed her hope that her all-too-brief She-Venom scene from the first film will be expanded for the sequel. "I hope I get equal time that way — I can say that," said Williams. Tom Hardy has reprised his role of Eddie Brock/Venom, and will also be joined by Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady, the man who will become Carnage. Venom: Let There Be Carnage was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and will now hit theaters on June 25, 021.
