According to Variety, the filmmaker known for writing on such projects as NACHO LIBRE, THE SCHOOL OF ROCK, and “Freaks and Geeks” will officially take the reins adapting the offbeat Seth Grahame-Smith novel, beating out contenders such as Mike Newell, Neil Marshall, and David Slade to name a few.
For those of you who’ve been living in a sealed bunker for the past year, the book is basically the Jane Austen 1813 classic Pride and Prejudice with droves of the undead thrown in for somewhat humorous effect. Grahame-Smith’s book looks at “an alternate version of 19th-century England that features deadly ancestors roaming the countryside amid the outbreak of a virus as Elizabeth Bennet and her sisters search for romance.”
Okay, now who’s gonna play our Elizabeth Bennet?
