Alas is the case with this news bit. The Hollywood Reporter dropped word that Jovovich (pictured) is keeping with the mysterious thriller genre and stepping up to star in THE 4TH KIND.
The flick is a fact-based thriller involving an ongoing unsolved mystery in Alaska, where one town has seen an extraordinary number of unexplained disappearances during the past 40 years and there are accusations of a federal cover-up. Oh, and it stars Milla Jovovich as a woman investigating the disappearences.
Still not sold? THE 4TH KIND is being written and directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi. Who’s that? That’s the former assitant of Mr. Joe Carnahan, the man that brought us SMOKIN ACES, which I found to be phenomenal. Works for me!
Carnahan will actually be involved in 4TH KIND via a producing credit. Reason being is that Osunsanmi actually developed the idea while working with Carnahan on ACES, the two eventually brought the script to Gold Circle Films.
Gold Circle’s Paul Brooks is also producing along with Terry Lee Robbins. Executive producing are Scott Niemeyer and Norm Waitt. Exec Guy Danella will be overseeing while Mandate International handles international sales.
THE 4TH KIND is looking at a late-June start date, so we’ll keep you updated.
