Another low-budget 3D feature is in the works. Right after getting word that Lionsgate was embarking on a slew of low cost features, some of which will be in 3D, comes the news that production company New Artists Alliance is about to do the same.
According to The Wrap, music video director Todd Levin is about to make his feature film debut with STATIC, a supernatural thriller that’s set to shoot in 3D.
Flick, budgeted at $1 million, will star Milo Ventimiglia (“Heroes”), Sarah Shahi (“Fairly Legal”; pictured below) and Sara Paxton (THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT; pictured right). The Wrap says the production will “use a camera rig designed specifically for the producers and director to hold two Sony PMW-F3 cameras — Sony’s answer to the RED 3D camera.”
STATIC concerns a young couple, played by Ventimiglia and Shahi, on the verge of divorce after losing their child. Their world changes when a young visitor arrives, bringing supernatural implications to the household.
