Mindflesh pics

You know, practically all day long I am reading plot descriptions and summaries that I can barely wrap my head around, but here’s a true doozy.

”Chris Jackson is a gateway for obsessions to pass from the mind to the physical world. To close the gateway he must face his childhood trauma before everyone he knows is killed by extraterrestrials.”

Thus we have MINDFLESH from LONDON VOODOO director Robert Pratten, a movie that Fangoria claims is a horror film with a Buddhist mentality. While I can’t say I grasp that, what does sink in is that this flick is very much in the tradition of David Cronenberg – which the director talked to Fango about:

“MINDFLESH is more of a David Cronenberg-style horror film. There’s gore, but it’s not a slasher. It’s not about kids butchering people or scenes of extended torture. And it’s not erotic horror, although we have tons of nudity…”

The director also offered his intriguing take on cinematic violence: “If the point of horror is to horrify people, then you can’t go too far. But the problem is that right now, horrifying translates as torture. And as a director, you cannot sit back and say, ‘I’m not responsible for what happens after people see my movie.’ You can’t! Your job is to inspire or scare people. If you’re showing scenes of extended torture, you’re contributing towards the numbness, the general acceptance, the anesthetizing to violence.”

And below are some freaky-sweet stills scooped by Fango! I don’t know what the f*ck’s goin on, but it’s icky! (Let’s face it, this movie confuses the crap out of me.)
