The beloved schlock-maestros at Cannon Films once compiled their own stable of actors. These actors would be their action stars and it would include Charles Bronson, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris. Norris was their golden boy (and this was way before he was a meme with his own subcategory of “Chuck Norris jokes”). The martial arts star would be in some of their biggest action hits that are still popular today, which include movies like Invasion U.S.A. and The Delta Force. There was also his own “Rambo” series with the Missing in Action movies, which were famously shot back-to-back and were released in reverse order.
Blu-ray.com now reports that the awesome MVD Rewind Collection, which has released action movies like Double Impact, will be releasing Missing in Action in 4K. The film stars Chuck Norris, M. Emmet Walsh, David Tress, Lenore Kasdorf, and James Hong. It’s due to hit retailers on September 22.
The description reads,
“Martial arts master Chuck Norris is the star of Missing in Action, a blistering, fast-paced action-adventure dramatizing the bitter plight of American servicemen still held captive in Vietnam–and one man’s mission to get them out!
Special Forces Col. James Braddock (Norris) knows all too well that American soldiers are secretly imprisoned in Vietnamese POW camps: He spent 10 years in a brutal labor camp long after the war’s end, until he led his men in a daring escape to freedom. Home at last, Braddock reluctantly agrees to join a fact-finding mission in Saigon to question the Vietnamese about other MIAs. Disgusted by the mealy-mouthed denials of the sadistic General Tran (James Hong), Braddock enlists the aid of State Department official Ann Fitzgerald (Lenore Kasdorf) and slips away to find out the real facts.”
