November 21st, 2007 is the date to keep in mind for the early 2007 holiday season, as one of King’s cooler stories is making it to the big screen by probably the best King adaptor ever- the man behind THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION and THE GREEN MILE. Darabont’s also not a stranger to the horror, as he also wrote NOES 3 (one of the better sequels) and THE BLOB remake. Basically, the beloved short story is in good hands, and I couldn’t think of anyone else I’d rather see behind the wheel.
As production hasn’t even started yet, and the cast is only rumored to be Thomas Jane, this flick is set on a fast turn-around, and I can only hope that it’s not too rushed to make that release date. Finally! A movie to look forward to next Thanksgiving (though I must say, CASINO ROYALE did a good job at rockin’ my socks off this year).
Stick around for more updates and casting news on THE MIST as we hear it, and pencil in November 21st, 2007 as the day when THE MIST takes over the world…
