To help balance out the creepiness of Nic Cage’s magician outfit in THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE, Disney has cast the lovely Monica Bellucci to star as his love interest. Bellucci will star as Veronica, a sorceress who is described as the long-lost love of Cage’s character. Filming has been underway in New York City for some time, which makes me think Bellucci’s role isn’t exactly chock full of screen time.
If you weren’t already aware, the film stars Cage and Jay Baruchel in the classic tale of the sorcerer and his assistant who accidentally unleashes trouble on the world (though I’m presuming Bruckheimer’s tale will be a tad more destructive than walking brooms and pails of water). Bellucci is currently promoting DON’T LOOK BACK at Cannes with Sophie Marceau, a pairing that recently produced this photo of the two actresses naked and hugging. NOM.
