MonsterVision: Horror TV Shows We Miss looks back on classic Joe Bob Briggs

I have some clear childhood memories of tuning in to The Movie Channel so I could watch the legendary Joe Bob Briggs host movies on his show Drive-In Theater. When that show ended, Joe Bob moved over to TNT for a multi-year run as the host of MonsterVision, and I regret that I didn't watch MonsterVision nearly enough, because in my youth I didn't realize that having more Joe Bob hosting segments could make up for the fact that the movies were edited for content and broken up by commercials. That was a dumb kid move. But someone who did watch MonsterVision regularly was Niki Minter, the host of our video series Horror TV Shows We Miss, and that's why MonsterVision is the subject of the new episode. Check it out in the embed above!

The Horror TV Shows We Miss series is all about taking a

nostalgic look back at the genre series that marked us while growing up and that helped shape our love of horror today.

This episode was Written and Narrated by Niki Minter, Edited by Juan Jiminez, Produced by John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.

While we miss MonsterVision and I wish I could go back and watch a lot more of it (anyone have a time machine I can borrow to fix that mistake? And some other ones along the way?), the legend of Joe Bob continues with The Last Drive-In on the Shudder streaming service, because the drive-in will never die.

Previous episodes of Horror TV Shows We Miss have covered the classic shows Twin Peaks, Tales from the Crypt, and The X-Files. Those episodes can be seen below, and if you'd like to check out the other shows we have to offer, head over to the JoBlo Horror Videos YouTube channel – and subscribe while you're there!
