More Bats?

Sci-Fi is at it again. This time they’re making a direct-to-TV sequel to the 1999 creature movie BATS. I know I’ve seen BATS, but I don’t remember anything about it, so that right there tells me this sequel is just not needed.

This one is even getting a nifty little subtitle! BATS: HUMAN HARVEST. It is getting the same treatment LAKE PLACID 2 got and will be premiering on the Sci-Fi channel.

According to Dread Central, BATS: HUMAN HARVEST is scheduled to premier on the Sci-Fi Channel on Saturday November 10, with a replay 4 hours later, then another replay the following Thursday during primetime. Jamie Dixon, an effects specialist, will be directing the film, who’s only other directing credit is SHADOW BUILDER. A whole new cast will also be joining this one, which includes Bill Cusack, David Chokachi, Tomas Arana, Pollyanna McIntosh (below), Michael Jace, Marty Papazian, and Todd Jenson.

According to IMDB, the plot is: Set in present day Afghanistan, the sequel centers on a group of soldiers who endeavor to capture Fazul, a fanatical terrorist who has escaped into the maze of caves underlying the landscape of the country. As the troops spelunk, they encounter one major obstacle: genetically altered bats programmed to seek out flesh and consume it.

So what’s your take? BATS: HUMAN HARVEST, potential? Once again, the direct-to-TV sequel will be premiering on the Sci-Fi Channel on November 10.

Dina Meyer – Best part of BATS?

Pollyanna McIntosh – Maybe BATS: HUMAN HARVEST won’t be that bad?
