More Bloody V-day

Last week, Mr. Ammon gave us a heads up on a couple of the first set pics from next January’s MY BLOODY VALENTINE remake. And while the images were nothing to really scream about (just a couple of building shots and no stars), at least it was another reminder that this flick is indeed moving forward. And here we now have a second set of set pics to ogle and at least this time we get inside one of the buildings (above)! I like that festive yet generic general store V-Day display. Though I’m certain that many hearts will be broken (or possibly ripped out) during this particular VALENTINE.

I’m actually really excited for this one. Yes, I know it’s a remake, but the 1981 version (which I loved) is ripe for an update. Plus, it’s going to be in 3-D, which can make for all sorts of icky splatter-at-the-screen fun! I’m pretty sure director Patrick Lussier (DRACULA 2000) is aiming for an R rating as well! And how can you go wrong with a cast that includes Jensen Ackles (SUPERNATURAL), Jaime King (THE TRIPPER, below), Kerr Smith (FINAL DESTINATION), and the immortal Tom Atkins (NIGHT OF THE CREEPS).

Here’s the update’s plot: Tom (Ackles) returns to his hometown on the tenth anniversary of the Valentine’s night massacre that claimed the life of 22 people. Instead of a homecoming, Tom finds himself suspected of committing the murders. MY BLOODY VALENTINE in 3-D is set to open January 23, 2009.
