More details for AMC’s second season of “The Walking Dead:” Not until Fall 2011?!

If you’re a fan of AITH then chances are you’ve been watching “The Walking Dead” on AMC. On the off chance you’re not watching the new series, what’s wrong with you?! The show has been kicking so much ass for the past three weeks that it didn’t take too long for AMC to announce that Season 2 was indeed on the way.

But now the question is, how soon will we see Season 2? According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed blog we won’t be seeing the return of ‘Rick Grimes’ until next October! Yeah, I know, major bummer. Though when the reasoning is explained it is somewhat understandable. You see next year, from March throughout the Summer, AMC will be airing new episodes of both “Breaking Bad” and “Mad Men,” which obviously are very successful shows. They’ve also got their new series “The Killing” lined up to premiere next year so along with “Walking Dead” that’s an impressive line-up, and obviously you don’t want to pimp all those shows at once so that means “Walking Dead” drops to October. Hey at least Frank Darabont is expected to return to bring us another episode next season.

Another reason is so that AMC can use it’s annual Fearfest to help promote “The Walking Dead,” much like they did this year. So yeah… We’ve got to wait another year for more “Walking Dead” but at this point there’s no denying that it’ll be worth it. In the meantime don’t forget to tune into AMC every Sunday night at 10 PM! Only three episodes left folks!
