More Happening Posters?

We last gave you an update on THE HAPPENING a couple weeks ago, when I pointed you towards a mess of stills for the flick.

Well today we have a look at two international posters that we haven’t seen yet here at AITH. They both seem to come from Mexico and are courtesy of the website Blog Movieland. Considering the cars in the foreground on all these posters are exactly the same, these may be some photoshopped fanwork. Either way they look pretty cool. If they are legit, why not do it with several countries’ major monuments ala I AM LEGEND?

According to Juan at Blog Movieland, the poster above is of the ‘Angel of Independence’ in Mexico City while the poster below is ‘The Minerva’ in Guadalajara, Jalisco. Just click either one to check out the full versions of the posters.

They’ve also got a look at the international version of the first poster released titled ‘Cerro de la Silla’ in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon along with a special trailer clip with scenes of ‘Bellas Artes’ and the ‘Alameda Central’ in Mexico City.

The film stars Mark Wahlberg, John Leguizamo, and Zooey Deschanel (below) coming from the mind of M. Night Shyamalan. It’s about a family trying to survive during an unknown phenomenon that threatens humanity.

THE HAPPENING hits theaters in less than a week, on June 13. The general expectation right now is that the movie is going to be really, really bad. The fact that it WILL be screening for critics is a good sign though, so the only way we’ll be able to tell if M. Night Shyamalan scores with his first R rated flick is to see it ourselves I guess.

Speaking of M. Night, we got word from Fox today that his official website will be going live Friday. We’re told the website is full of mystery right now (as is anything M. Night is involved with) but the site will contain info on Shyamalan’s past, present and future films as well as updates from the man himself. You’ll be able to check that out over at http://www.mnightshyamalan.com/ when THE HAPPENING hits theaters everywhere this Friday, June 13.
