Well now we got word on the newest two films to join this little gem. They’ll be LEFT FOR DEAD and SHROUDED.
The poster for SHROUDED can be seen to the right. The synopsis reads: Wisnu is a good man with a loving family, but all of this changes when a gang of crooks break into his family’s store and kills his entire family right before his eyes. Shortly thereafter, Wisnu starts having ghostly visions of a shrouded ghost and everytime he sees it, his desire for revenge grows stronger. The shrouded ghost slowly turns him from a nice and gentle man to a cruel and evil man filled with hatred… That sounds like one badass revenge flick, and the fact that it was banned in it’s native Indonesia makes me tingle. It’s directed by Rudi Soedjarwo and stars Dwi Sasono, Kinaryosih, T. Rifnu Wikana, Shally Tria Amanda, Ronald Kansil, and Eddie Karsito.
The LEFT FOR DEAD poster can be seen below. The synopsis for this one is: It’s Devil’s Night, the night before Halloween, and five fraternity brothers have just become responsible for the death of an innocent person. They swear to never speak of the accident again and it seems like they have just gotten away with it. One year later the five friends are at a Halloween party and someone hasn’t forgotten about last year… and he’s got a machete! So it’s I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER, except on Halloween? Although it’s completely unoriginal, how can you go wrong with a campy slasher flick? It’s directed by Christopher Harrison and stars Steve Byers, Shawn Roberts, Robbie Amell, Boyd Banks, Daniel Clark, and Danielle Harris (below). Yeah, Danielle Harris. That just sold it for me.
So there’s the newest two films for Insomnifest. Insomnifest is the first ever online horror film festival and will be broadcasted for the entire world to view over a two week period in February of 2008 at Insomnifest.com. A specific date has yet to be announced. We will be showing twelve horror flicks from all over the world and several of them will be world premieres.
