With films such as DEEP BLUE SEA, CLIFFHANGER, DIE HARD 2 and THE LONG KISS GOODNIGHT under his belt, it’s hard to see how anyone could not love his movies. Of course, he was behind EXORCIST: THE BEGINNING, which was pretty much one of the worse movies of his career- even worse than DRIVEN and CUTTHROAT ISLAND.
So where’s this all going? His directing a new flick entitled THE COVENANT, who’s plot has been kept secret- unti today. Fangoria scored the story of the flick, and it sounds… very Harlin-esque.
“THE COVENANT tells the story of the Sons of Ipswich, four young students bound by their sacred ancestry. As descendants of the original families who settled in Ipswich Colony in the 1600s, the boys have inherited special powers—but the one hitch is that the misuse of these powers can shorten their lives and, once they turn 18, can actually kill them. When the body of a dead student is discovered after a party, secrets begin to unravel and the covenant of silence that protects them is threatened. Will the boys become victims of their own supernatural gifts?”
Yeah… well, we’ll see about that one. To the very least, you know that shite will be entertaining as hell… somehow, it will be entertaining…
THE COVENANT stars Steven Straight, Laura Ramsey and Sebastian Stan- and will be released by Sony Pictures September 8th in theaters everywhere. For more information, go ahead and click HERE.
