I find it hard to beleive we’re only one short week away from THE DARK KNIGHT. It doesn’t seem real… it feels like I’m going to show up to the theater and those theater people are going to point and laugh at me and tell me I have to wait another year and a half to see the movie. But alas, that doesn’t seem to be the case (if it is… those theater people are getting hurt.). Instead I’m pretty confident in a little over a weeks time this entire country, nay the world would have witnessed Christopher Nolan’s THE DARK KNIGHT… at least twice.
We’ve been covering TDK for god knows how long now, so no way in hell we’re going to stop for the home stretch. Which brings me to a couple little tidbits we have for you today. First up is another trailer for the flick, this one being the trailer seen at Wizard World Chicago. It’s explained as: The fifth trailer for THE DARK KNIGHT comes from this past years Wizard World in Chicago. This trailer does not have much dialogue but there is tons of action packed footage, even Batman tossing Joker (87 sec) and Two-Face at the end.

But that trailer isn’t the main reason for this story. My buddy Kevin brought something to my attention yesterday… something absolutely brilliant. It’s a few pages from Michael Bay’s rejected THE DARK KNIGHT script! That’s right. Explosion and car chase kingpin Michael Bay penned his own version of THE DARK KNIGHT.
It’s a brilliant piece of writing and I find it hard to believe that this treatment got denied. I’m sure most will agree with me.. here’s a few excerpts from it:
‘An American flag (CGI) flies proudly in the central courtyard.’
‘She is the hottest woman in the world, but she wears glasses because she is also the smartest woman in the world.’
‘Batman: Back in black. Pyrotechnics erupt in the distance. Guitar solo.’
‘It luxuriates on her toned stomach. Up it goes. Then down. Then up again. Slowly…Slowly… Now counter-clockwise.’
‘JOKER unleashes an all-out barrage of missles, like the biggest fucking missiles you will ever see.’
