If you weren’t sure that the upcoming Viggo Mortensen movie THE ROAD was set in a post-apocalyptic world, these new pics should help make that point quite clear.
In the adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s bleak book, The Vig takes his kid across the grim landscape of future America, contending with gangs of scavengers, cannibals and generally unpleasant and unwashed people. Almost like today! Director John Hillcoat certainly knows his stark, hellish imagery — his last film was THE PROPOSITION (whose star Guy Pearce pops up in THE ROAD).
