More to Feast on

I dug FEAST a lot, maybe not as much as most people, but I was entertained. The flick was a nice gritty refresher to the horror we’re subjected to nowadays. Well a lot of genre fans thought the same way I did, because two sequels were greenlit not too long ago. Not just one sequel, but two! And the good news is, they’re shooting them back to back, so we won’t have to wait too long for FEAST 3 once FEAST 2 hits us.

According to Bloody-Disgusting, production is going to start this month in Shreveport, Louisiana and nearly the whole gang is back. Once again behind the camera will be John Gulager directing the two films, as for the scripts, Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunston will be writing both sequels (man those dudes are busy). So now that the behind the scenes is out of the way, what cast is returning? Well from the synopsis, it’s safe to assume the following will be returning: Balthazar Getty, Josh Zuckerman, Krista Allen, Jenny Wade, and Diane Goldner. Before we go any further, here’s the synopsis according to BD:

It is the morning after, and we pick up with the survivors of FEAST’s terrifying night before. There are more monsters and they are even angrier/hungrier. The monsters have made it into the small neighboring town in the middle of nowhere and the surviving locals have to band together to figure out how to survive. Like that is even a real possibility. Will HONEY PIE pay for her desertion? Will TUFFY make it to HEROINE’s kid in time? Is that HARLEY MOM’s twin sister? So many questions, it will take another sequel to answer them all. But for now, we can only sit back and be terrorized.

Now mind you, this synopsis and casting is in regards to FEAST 2, not FEAST 3. Also keep in mind that it’s a possibility some of the roles could have been recast. Now being a fan of the first, that plot gets me excitied. So much so that I’m really looking forward to this one. Instead of a small bar, the monsters are terrorizing a whole town? More characters, more monsters, more gore, I’m down. One great thing about FEAST was how it toyed around with the predictibility (although that could be argued for the ending), so here’s hoping FEAST 2 and FEAST 3 will go along the same lines. Here’s also hoping they find some way to bring Henry Rollins back, because let’s be honest, he kicked ass as the machete wielding motivational speaker.

***SPOILER***And another little note, BD also dropped a spoiler about a certain character that will be introduced in FEAST 2 that will eventually become the lead in FEAST 3. The name of the character is ‘Chubby’ and he’s described as ‘a chubby and loveable loser, who eventually gets his girl, but only when it is clear that he is the LAST man on Earth.’ Apparently they’re looking for a comedian for the role.***END SPOILER***
