Dreamworks How To Train Your Dragon 2 trailer soars in!

A new full trailer for Dreamworks HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2 has flown in, featuring all the adventure and antics you've come to expect from their animation department. That's not a knock, either, as they've delivered some really solid animated films throughout the years with the first HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON as their crème de la crème. The sequel finds the main cast five years older and living in harmony with their scaly friends, but with a new human threat, as well as a new human complication when a mysterious woman (Cate Blanchett) enters the picture (spoiler, it's not mysterious by the end of the trailer). The main voice crew is back, including Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, Gerard Butler, Kristen Wiig, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Jonah Hill, Craig Ferguson, and T.J. Miller, as well as new additions Djimon Hounsou and Kit Harington.

Take a look:

Here's the synopsis:

It's been five years since Hiccup and Toothless successfully united dragons and vikings on the island of Berk. While Astrid, Snotlout and the rest of the gang are challenging each other to dragon races (the island's new favorite contact sport), the now inseparable pair journey through the skies, charting unmapped territories and exploring new worlds. When one of their adventures leads to the discovery of a secret ice cave that is home to hundreds of new wild dragons and the mysterious Dragon Rider, the two friends find themselves at the center of a battle to protect the peace. Now, Hiccup and Toothless must unite to stand up for what they believe while recognizing that only together do they have the power to change the future of both men and dragons.

If there's one thing that will help you sell your trailer, it's the song "Kings and Queens" by 30 Seconds To Mars. At least, that's what the trailer choppers for HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2 thought and to their credit it hits all the right notes. Hopefully, the film does as well. The first film was such a pleasant surprise and a lot of fun (with a great score by composer John Powell), so I'm hoping this continues that trend. So far, I'd say prospects look good.

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2 flies into theaters on June 13, 2014.
