Julia Stiles to rejoin Matt Damon in Paul Greengrass’ next Bourne film

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

BOURNE 5 is not only going to benefit from the return of director Paul Greengrass and star Matt Damon but now another familiar face is back in the fold. Deadline reports that Julia Stiles will reprise her role from the first three films as Nicky Parsons in the movie. While this may not be the biggest marquee name out there, it does bring back some consistency with the first movies and the new one.

After taking a hiatus from the series for THE BOURNE LEGACY, Greengrass and Damon are set to continue the popular series with Jason Bourne in the leading role instead of Jeremy Renner's Aaron Cross. There is no word on what other characters will come back for the fifth film, but there have been rumors that EX MACHINA star Alicia Vikander is in talks for a lead role in the film. No plot has been revealed although there is no anticipation of crossing over Jason Bourne and Aaron Cross in this movie.

The Bourne films have proven to be box office gold, even when Damon is not in the lead, but much more when he is. This isn't a knock against Renner, but it is the dynamic between Damon and Greengrass that makes the movies work as the second and third films are much better than the Doug Liman-directed THE BOURNE IDENTITY. Here's hoping these guys can recapture the magic at least one more time.

BOURNE 5 is slated to open on July 16, 2016.
