As far as we know, Neill Blomkamp isn't attached to an ALIEN movie, but yesterday the DISTRICT 9 and ELYSIUM director posted several pieces of very interesting concept art featuring xenomorphs, Sigourney Weaver's Ripley, Michael Biehn's Corporal Hicks and more.

While one of the images is captioned "Was working on this. Don't think I am anymore. Love it though" Blomkamp later tweeted (although it isn't a verified account), "Ps this has nothing to do with the studio. I just feel like I might do something else instead. In which case why not show some work" and "they didn't really even know I was working on it ha."

But what does Neill Blomkamp mean when he says Fox didn't really even know he was working on it? He also says it has nothing to do with the studio, so maybe he just did it for shits and giggles, or perhaps he was going to pitch an idea for a new ALIEN movie and changed his mind. There's also a chance the concept art wasn't for a film, and instead was for a different type of project, like an ALIEN video game. What are your thoughts on this ALIEN concept art?

Neill Blomkamp's CHAPPIE starring Hugh Jackman and Sharlto Copley opens on March 6, 2015.
