Paramount and Hasbro to create shared universe with G.I. Joe & other brands

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

The last time we heard about G.I. JOE 3, Paramount had moved on to writer Aaron Berg after giving Evan Daugherty and Jonathan Lemkin a shot. That was pretty much it, and while there were rumors about a possible TRANSFORMERS/JOE crossover, it looks like they have other plans. Hollywood Reporter is stating that Paramount and Hasbro's film label, Allspark Pictures, are aiming to create a shared universe between G.I. Joe, Micronauts, Visionairies, M.A.S.K. (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand) and ROM.

Much like they've done recently with TRANSFORMERS, a writer's room is expected to be assembled in which to make sense of all this toy-turned-movie madness. There's been no talk about an expected release date for G.I. JOE 3, or who might return from the previous films, but I think we can expect the Joes to have some company on their next mission. Meanwhile, I'll be over here, waiting for my Dino-Riders movie…
