Ray Fisher says former DC boss Geoff Johns threatened his career

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

After letting his feelings about Joss Whedon known to the public, JUSTICE LEAGUE actor has leveled new accusations against DC boss and producer, Geoff Johns. Joss Whedon stepped in to direct reshoots on JUSTICE LEAGUE after Zack Snyder had to step down due to a personal family matter and according to Fisher, who played Cyborg in the film, Whedon's behavior on set was "gross, abusive, unprofessional and completely unacceptable." Fisher made these claims on Twitter and also called out producers Johns and Jon Berg for enabling his behavior. Fisher has returned to Twitter to say more about Johns and it's not pretty.

Fisher accuses Johns of threatening his career when the actor and his agents took some of their complaints during the Los Angeles shoot of JUSTICE LEAGUE to the proper chain of command. You can see Fisher's quote below from his official Twitter post:

Fisher's claims began pretty soon after it was announced that Zack Snyder's cut of JUSTICE LEAGUE would be heading to HBO Max next year. It began with Fisher reposting a video from a convention where he praised Whedon which was followed with a caption that he took everything back that he said in the clip about the director. Fisher's issues with Whedon got more direct when he accused him of being unprofessional on the JUSTICE LEAGUE set and then the actor even posted tweets saying he believed women like Charisma Carpenter, who played Cordelia Chase on Buffy The Vampire Slayer for three seasons and on its spin-off Angel during a four-year run. Carpenter has been very direct in the past that Whedon basically ruined her character when her real-life pregnancy wasn't in line with his plans for her character on the show.

Fisher soon subsided on bringing up Whedon on social media, saying "since he's still under contract and signed a non-disclosure agreement, he has to be careful about what he says regarding his experiences with Joss Whedon on the JUSTICE LEAGUE set, otherwise he could get sued into oblivion." These latest comments about Geoff Johns must be on the list of careful things to say because while it's not incredibly explosive, it still doesn't paint Johns in a great light.

I feel like this Ray Fisher/JUSTICE LEAGUE drama went on a season finale and now we're back with a brand new season premiere. So far a lot of these parties have been very quiet, particularly Whedon. The other members of the JUSTICE LEAGUE cast have also been radio silent but given their unwavering support of Zack Snyder, I have a feeling they have Fisher's back on this. I guess we'll have to wait for more Ray Fisher tweets to see what happens next.

What are YOUR thoughts on Fisher's latest claims?
