Rumor: Christoph Waltz will play Blofeld in Bond 24

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

When we first heard the rumor that Christoph Waltz may be up for the villain role in BOND 24, you could say we were a bit excited. The Oscar winning actor has proven to be a great talent on screen, especially as bad guys in INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS and GREEN HORNET amongst others. But, what would you say if that villain role was one of the most iconic Bond bad guys of all time?

While The Daily Mail is not exactly the most reputable source, they are claiming Christoph Waltz may be playing Ernst Stavro Blofeld in BOND 24. Blofeld is the head of SPECTRE and went against 007 in over a half dozen movies in the original series.

Before you write this off as total bullshit, keep in mind that MGM won a lawsuit last year that gave them the rights to Blofeld and other elements of the Bond franchise that were in contention for some time. This could mean that Sam Mendes' return for BOND 24 could also be the reintroduction of a major foe for Daniel Craig's MI-6 agent.

Prior to SKYFALL, we were teased to the existence of a crime syndicate called QUANTUM that could be the new version of SPECTRE with Blofeld at the helm. This could mean he may be a phantom menace pulling strings or possibly the direct antagonist to James Bond. Either way, if this pans out, Bond fans may be in for quite a treat.

BOND 24 kicks off production at Pinewood Studios next month and will be filming scenes in Rome early next year including car chases and a parachute sequence. Hopefully we get confirmation of this casting and more very soon.

BOND 24 is slated to hit theaters on November 6, 2015.
