MPAA vs. Bloodrayne

Well, if anything good can be said about Uwe Boll’s next effort in video game-to-movie adaptations, you can say that there was a lot of plasma.

During an interview with Sci Fi Wire, Boll revealed that the first cut of the film had the MPAA lay the smack down on it with the dreaded NC-17 rating. Boll was also quick to point out that the original cut will eventually find its way onto DVD.

Amongst the cuts made involved one that freaked out castmember Michael Madsen. “There’s one scene that I was disturbed by, and that was when this guy gets chopped in half and people are still stabbing him,” Madsen said. “Yeah, I was a little disturbed by that.”

Another cut scene also made star Kristanna Loken sick. The scene in question involved Loken mowing down about a dozen guys, including one where she stabs the guy in his eye and blood shoots out. Yummy.

BLOODRAYNE, staring Loken, Madsen, Ben Kingsley, Udo Kier, Meat Loaf, Billy Zane, Matthew Davis and Michael Pare opens in theatres January 6th.
