Well it’s that time of the year again, as the nominations for MTV’s 2006 Movie Awards were announced today- which means a bombarbment of advertising for you to vote for your favorites and see which movie really was the best… or at least, the most popular.
I will hand it to MTV for one thing though, they’re smart enough to give Horror Movies their own category, along with their other not-so-status-quo categories, which puts this award show one step higher on my list of respectable award shows (with THE GOLDEN SCHMOES leading the pack).
So what flicks got the nods? Glad to see Rachel McAdams picked up a Best Performance nod for RED EYE, although the performance wasn’t all that great, at least Craven’s getting representing somewhere in the mix. It’s also exciting to see that Tobin Bell scored a nomination for Best Villian with his portrayal of Jigsaw in SAW II– very well deserved nomination right there.
Rounding up the nominations for Break Through Permance was Jennifer Carpenter as Emily in
THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE, a performance that had the poop scared out of me, and even Kate Beckinsale scored a nomination for BEST HERO in
UNDERWORLD: EVOLUTION. Nice!!!
Though any award show that seriously nominates FANTASTIC FOUR (or Paris Hilton, for that matter) for
any award shouldn’t be taken seriously, but hey, as they say, it’s totally an honor to be nominated. Below you’ll see the nominations for BEST FRIGHTENED PERFORMANCE, and you can catch the 2006 Movie Awards live June 8th, starting at 9pm. Click
