Wow. I don’t know about any of you,
but based on what Rob Zombie has said to MTV it seems like maybe he’s changed
quite a bit in his HALLOWEEN adaptation script than when it was first
leaked onto the internet.
In an interview that can be read
here Zombie talks to MTV about his adaptation. MTV also
talks to some of the key players in the film as well.
I’m not going to re-write everything
that was said, but there are some definite items that stood out. Here are a
couple of tidbits.
“Laurie doesn’t even
come into the film until the final third [of the film]”
“…but of course
the older Michael is completely [silent]; he doesn’t say a thing, he just wears
a mask and terrifies everybody to death.”
“The plan was at
some point to [remake it], to change it around,” Zombie said, revealing that it
has since been shelved. “The actual way it sounds now doesn’t really work with
what we’re doing. (When asked about the original Halloween theme)”
I for one didn’t realize how much of
the film was really about young Myers. Also I remember one of the key criticisms
of the script being that Zombie had Myers speaking during the murders, so did he
change the script because of fan boy flack?. And lastly I personally think that
the complete removal of one of the most famous horror ballads is ballsy. Zombie
really seems to want to set this movie apart from the original, but is removing
the theme really the way to go about doing it?
I guess this whole thing can also
viewed as a video file
here although if your a fellow Canadian like
me, don’t bother because it won’t work. Anyways, if you do read or watch the
article, spit some bullets below. What does everyone think of this new info?
