Mulberry Fest

Last month we had a look at director Jim Mickle’s latest dip into horror MULBERRY STREET, and at first look it appeared as though we had a hit on our hands. Especially considering it was still in the middle of filming! Today, be it Halloween or your mom’s night off, Mickle dropped us a line about the progress of the STREET, and so far… so good!

The biggest news is that filming wraps this Thursday, then it’s rushed to Sweden to premiere at the STOCKHOLM INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL on November 16th. What a turn-around! Hopefully it won’t be rushed, but it sounds like the film’s been cut together for the most part, as 2 weeks to cut the whole thing just isn’t enough time.

What’s this? Forgotten what MULBERRY STREET’s all about? Check it: In the night of a heat wave at Manhattan. a deadly infection breaks out. The rat-borne virus transforms it´s afflicted into bloodthirsty rat creatures. The film´s story revolves around seven recently evicted tenants trapped in a downtown building as the virus changes the outside world into a nightmarish vision. Together they must struggle to survive the night and protect their apartments from the killer rats.

Yo, anything to do with rats and infectious zombie diseases… count me in! Be sure to hit up the Official Site for the flick, where you can check out the awesome trailer and slick images from the film. This one will be one to watch out for, mark my words. For more info on the fest, go ahead and click HERE, and have a blast on this MULBERRY STREET at the Twilight Zone section of the fest on November 17th.
