The Tribeca Film Festival is in full swing right now in New York, showcasing hundreds of different flicks, some new, some revisited, all hoping to find a big audience.
There’s a pretty significant horror line-up, which is something you don’t always find at a huge festival like this… Having recently written about two of the featured freak-outs (POUGHKEEPSIE TAPES and UNEARTHED), I’m bringing awareness to another one, one that might just be the coolest sounding of them all.
The film is entitled MULBERRY STREET and it concerns an invasion of deadly rats attacking the city (read our previous coverage from last October here). Anyone who is bitten by these bastards is turned into killer rat-person. As Manhattan turns into a living hell, the few non-rat-people have to barricade themselves within their apartments and fend for themselves against these nasty half-rodent/half-Manhattanite hybrids… Can you dig it? Thought so.
I’ll be fortunate enough to see MULBERRY STREET this Sunday (Godblessyou Arrow in the Head!) and a review will hit the site shortly thereafter. As for right now, you can nibble on the grimy teaser poster, and the icky pics below. Rats and rat-people vs. pissed off New Yorkers? I’m already there.
And be sure to visit the the Official Site for a look at the trailer and full credits list.
