Hard as it is to believe, with its release date impending, THE MUMMY: THE TOMB OF THE DRAGON EMPEROR still has some shooting to do, director Rob Cohen revealed in his blog the other day. I’ll let him tell the tale for you:
I’m off to London tonight after finalizing 43 Cool Full 3-D VFX shots today. We are up to 580 finals, 366 shots to go. The scoring begins on Tuesday and while there, I will shoot a few London-base shots with Brendan, Maria and John Hannah. The VFX work will continue by satellite hook up.
Color me surprised that the flick, due on AUGUST 1, isn’t complete – but then again, in this day and age, it’s not uncommon for movies to shoot pick-up scenes right down to the wire.
In related news, we can expect a new trailer on JUNE 27. It will be attached to Universal’s WANTED, says Cohen. It will also appear on Cohen’s blog, so keep an eye on it!
