Murphy’s Deadline

Most people out there probably see Brittany Murphy as the perky little blond in all those chick flicks. That’s the category she seems to fall under, and some might even consider her annoying.

Not me. I love Brittany Murphy. Not just in those chick flicks either… I’m talking stuff like THE DEAD GIRL , SPUN, SIN CITY, DON’T SAY A WORD, etc. When challenged, I think Brittany Murphy can nail the crazy stuff. Which is why I’m stoked to hear about this new flick from The Hollywood Reporter.

THR are dropping word on this ‘SHINING-like psychological thriller’ called DEADLINE.

In DEADLINE, Murphy (below) stars as a scribe who travels to an abandoned house to write a screenplay. A bout of writer’s block and other unforeseen events lead her to a psychological breakdown.

I’m down! And seeing Brittany Murphy in this role has me even more stoked! If she can tone it down just a bit, I think she’ll nail it! Also starring in DEADLINE will be Thora Birch (above), Tammy Blanchard, and Marc Blucas.

Roger Betterton is set to produce with Sean McConville making DEADLINE his first directing effort.
