its a good day to be Rob Zombie! Box Office Mojo reports that the
(mostly) critically panned HALLOWEEN (my
review up Monday…I know…I’m late…I know…) made close to $11M on Friday
alone!!! You heard me, Friday alone! WOW! Yup, that leaked Work Print didn’t hurt this one’s che and ching on the big screen that’s for sure!
I expect Myers to rake in 25-30
Million this weekend. Its definitely on the right track in terms of
breaking the Labor Day Weekend BO record. NOTE:
Legion of Michael is going very well thus far; will be hard to just
pick one winner – keep em coming!
Alas James Wan’s already criminally underrated brutal vigilante
flick
DEATH SENTENCE (read my review here) didn’t
fare as well; it opened in 8th place on Friday with only a little over $1M in
its holster. I’m sure the low amount of screens it plays on and the restrained
(that’s me being polite) marketing campaign for the flick didn’t help with the
numbers.
Mark my words though; expect Death Sentence to become a cult classic
in time; I got 5 bucks and a box of Tic-Tac on the table; any takers?
