One project we here at Arrow in the Head are pretty anxious to see get off the ground is CONDITION DEAD; not just because it’s a zombie epic, and not just because MY BLOODY VALENTINE and DRIVE ANGRY director Patrick Lussier is developing it, but also because the screenwriter, Dave Davis, is a fellow JoBloer! The man writes for our big sisters over there at JoBlo.com, so obviously we’re rooting for him big time. That is, until it actually happens. Then we’ll all be jealous and bitter and we’ll just ignore him.
In any event, the flick has been hanging around since 2007, when Tyrese Gibson was attached as producer and actor. While it’s unsure whether or not he’s still involved, Lussier gave Moviehole a quick update on the project’s status. Dave, I hope you’re reading!
“It’s a really fun, great script and right now its in the process of looking for financing which can be a really long winded process at times, it’s not a cheap movie so we’ll have to see what happens and how that all comes together.”
When asked if there are any actors being looked at, Lussier had this answer: “Yeah, there’s great parts in it, we’re talking about getting Nathan Fillion for one of those parts depending on his availability; there’s a couple of parts he’d be great for so we’ll have to see how it goes.”
Now that would be catnip for geeks everywhere, Nathan Fillion in a zombie epic. Of course, this isn’t even close to official, but it’s nice to think about. *stares off into space* Yes, very nice to think about…
