NBC planning a modern day take on the Frankenstein legend

There have been so many damn FRANKENSTEIN projects announced in the past few months that I’m not even going to link to them all. Just know that there’s at least five film takes on the Mary Shelley novel in various stages of development right now. Today, we can throw television into the mix, too.

According to Variety, NBC has ordered a drama script billed as a – wait for it – “modern-day take” on the classic legend. Russel Friend and Garrett Lerner, writers and producers on the hit Fox show “House” have been tasked with penning the monster.

No details are available, other than the “modern-day” business. We can only pray that it’s not some horrid teenage romance creation in the “Teen Wolf” vein. But would anybody really be surprised if that’s what it turns out to be?
