A while back, I gave you guys a look at the trailer for a sick and depraved little treat called NECROMENTIA. Again, it is NOT about boning dead people. But it is premiering at this year’s Cannes Film Fest, which is why we’ve got a brand new poster for the flick up top. My friends, I’m actually very curious: what the f*ck do you think of that 1-sheet? It appears to be some sort of swine/Jesus interpretation… with Christmas lights in the back? Although the pig mask does call to mind MOTEL HELL, I’m not sure what else to say.
How about we check out the plot: NECROMENTIA tells the stories of 3 men whose lives have been turned over by the existence of a tattooed Ouija Board and the gateways they open with it. Hagen is a strange character who keeps the corpse of his lover in his house, believing that one day she will come back from the dead. But when he meets a mysterious man named Travis, he soon learns that maybe he could be the one who goes into hell and bring her back from the dead. Once Travis carves the Ouija Board from his back, there is no going back as Hagen comes face to face with the monstrosities of the creatures within hell. But does Travis really want to help Hagen, or does he have other plans?
Since that plot sounds so friggin’ f-ed up, I’m gonna go ahead and proclaim the poster as an ideal complement. The film was directed by Pearry Reginald Teo (THE GENE GENERATION) from a script by Stephanie Joyce. It stars Layton Matthews, Chad Grimes, Santiago Craig, and Katherine Pawlak. Not sure when/if it will be reaching theaters.
