Netflix unveils release dates for the year’s new films including Wes Anderson’s Henry Sugar and David Fincher’s The Killer

Netflix released a trailer at the beginning of the year that celebrated the great 2022 the company had with subscribers and advertised that the best was yet to come. It’s been a year of interesting releases as far as reception at the box office; however, the streaming platform that started the revolution in entertainment never has such publicity as the streamer doesn’t tend to release information besides the list of trending titles. While last year brought forth such successes as Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Netflix announced its slate for 2023 with notable talent behind it.

We’re now into the third quarter of the year, and Netflix has now unveiled the release dates for some of its big named films that are scheduled to premiere in the coming months. Among those is Wes Anderson’s newest outing. The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar is coming out on October 13. Not long after his summer release, Asteroid City. The logline reads, “Wes Anderson’s adaptation of several Roald Dahl short stories including The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar. The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Ralph Fiennes, Dev Patel, Sir Ben Kingsley, Richard Ayoade, Rupert Friend, and Asa Jennings.

Another notable release that month is the film that is based on the book of the same name titled Pain Hustlers. The drama comes from director David Yates and stars Emily Blunt, Chris Evans, Andy Garcia, Catherine O’Hara, Jay Duplass, Brian d’Arcy James and Chloe Coleman. The logline reads, “Upon losing her job, a blue-collar woman struggling to raise her daughter takes a job at a failing pharmaceutical startup, only to get involved in a dangerous racketeering scheme.” Pain Hustlers is scheduled to stream on October 27.

Another high-profile release is a new David Fincher crime film with Michael Fassbender called The Killer. This is not to be confused with John Woo’s upcoming remake of his own film, The Killer. For this film, the logline reads, “After a fateful near-miss an assassin battles his employers, and himself, on an international manhunt he insists isn’t personal.” In addition to Fassbender, the film also stars Charles Parnell, Arliss Howard, Sophie Charlotte and Tilda Swinton. The Killer will be gracing home screens and compatible devices on November 10.
