Netflix’s Stranger Things 3 wraps filming

The third season of Netflix's STRANGER THINGS will see the return of such series mainstays as Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Gaten Matarazzo, Noah Schnapp, Dacre Montgomery, Charlie Heaton, Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, Winona Ryder, and David Harbour. And those regulars are joined by new cast members Francesca Reale, Maya Hawke, Jake Busey, and Cary Elwes.

I'm super excited for STRANGER THINGS 3 and you probably are too. And thus today I have killer news as it seems that the much-anticipated third season has wrapped filming! GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS star Millie Bobby Brown broke the news over on Instagram. You can check out the young actress' Instagram post below and then make sure to hit us up and let us know how excited you are for the upcoming third season of STRANGER THINGS on Netflix in the comments section below!

The third season of Stranger Things is set during the summer of 1985. Series creators the Duffer Brothers have said the characters are still going to be dealing with the evil creature called the Mind Flayer:

They've shut the door on the Mind Flayer, but not only is it still there in the Upside Down, it's very much aware of the kids, and particularly Eleven. It had not encountered her and her powers until that final episode (of season 2). Now, it knows that she's out there."

All of that sounds good to me. Especially when you toss in the producer (and sometimes episode director) Shawn Levy's recent comments that this new season will not be all fun in the sun, and STRANGER THINGS 3 will be the darkest season of the series to date.

Producer Shawn Levy:

… season 3 has a really healthy dose of poppy, bright levity and cultural fun. But I can only promise you that season 3 eventually goes places that are darker, and unquestionably more action-packed than we’ve ever gone before.

Again, we don't know for sure when the third season of Netflix's STRANGER THINGS will be hitting, but until we do, you can always go re-binge-watch seasons one and two over on Netflix
