I’m still curious how the pitch for this show went down at the ol’ Spike TV HQ, when they decided to do a TV show/mini-series based on the comic book
BLADE. It probably went down a bit like this:
Suit#1: Let’s do a show based on a comic book. Those seem to be popular these days.
Suite#2: Good idea. But there are hundreds of comics out there, which one should we do?
#1: I don’t know. What’s that one with that Snipes guys?
#2: Oh you mean BLADE?
#1: Yeah. BLADE was a popular movie. I’m sure it’d be popular on TV too.
#2: Good call. Best to play it safe with something that works, instead of doing a comic adaptation that hasn’t been done before. That’s too risky.
#1: You’re right. BLADE it is! Today,
BlackFilm busted out a few new images from SpikeTV’s upcoming BLADE series, and they’re lookin’ pretty sweet. They’re more of the same, but a few extra juicy gems (like the one above) that make it worthwhile.
Jesting aside, the show doesn’t look half bad, and I could think of worse things to do with 2 hours of your life, so why not tune in and enjoy the new BLADE, which airs June 28th at 10pm. And click
