Seems like we’ve been threatened by the possibility of a “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” reboot for many years now, be it in TV or movie form. Well kids, today’s the day that it officially becomes a reality.
Warner Bros. has announced that it’s starting from scratch with a new BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER movie. The project is being penned by actress Whit Anderson, who as far as I can tell doesn’t have a feature writing credit to her name. (She was in YES MAN, so there’s that…)
Doug Davison and Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment – a company that does nothing but remake things (See THE RING, THE DEPARTED, etc.) – will produce alongside Charles Roven and Steve Alexander.
“Whit approached us with an exciting idea about how to update Buffy,” said Roven. “There is an active fan base eagerly awaiting this character’s return to the big screen. We’re thrilled to team up with Doug and Roy on a re-imagining of Buffy and the world she inhabits. Details of the film are being kept under wraps, but I can say while this is not your high school Buffy, she’ll be just as witty, tough, and sexy as we all remember her to be.”
Huh? Wha-what’s that? Sorry Charles, I was sleeping. So bored by this news…
